Bebop wasn't dance music. In fact, it cut that connection to the people, which was the beginning of the demise of Jazz being the "music of masses." During WWI and WWII, Jazz (Swing) was the "pop music" across America. Bebop ended all that by increasing tempos well beyond that of dance. Bebop was music for musicians. The Jazz Timeline briefly details this occurrence. Thanks for the interest!

I was thinking you could add boogie woogie, jump blues, etc... to the list of different swing styles.
