I want to know if you took Tommy's advice on this one?

Since it was a family event, I'm pretty sure that he didn't even touch it.

Update:
I spent several hours preparing for this dance gathering songs and building my own DJ lighting system (which, by the way, went over well).

I was asked to lend the city the sound system for the live band they had the hour before the dance. It was an authentic jug band. That was the highlight of the evening for me. After that, everything just went downhill from there.

It turned out that 94% of the people who participated in the dance were early teens. Sooooo, all my great ideas for songs got scrapped right there. I think I played Mambo #5... I'm not sure. Sadly enough, I didn't follow Tommy's suggestion. I don't even have that song.... come to think of it, I don't even WANT to know where I can get that song.

My playlist consisted mostly of the dance greats from when I was in high school, some top 40 from a couple years back, several songs from the Shrek soundtracks, party favorites (Macarena, Hokey Pokey, electric slide, etc.), Salsa (requested by a Chilean lady), only a couple country songs, and sadly, only a couple swing songs.

The city council was pleased with my efforts and it is rumored they want me back next year. My wife doesn't think I will be able to make it.

At least they paid me well...

Any questions?

I agree.

It's a great way to discourage me from participating in the Polygamy Lindy Contest, but that shouldn't too big of a surprise.

am i the only one who thought it was funny? perhaps not the most appropriate song for the event, but the song itself is funny (to me).

I find it humorous in how casual they refer to certain male body parts and how the size of it can determine one's happiness.

But yes, I was worried when it was played that it was inappropriate for the ocassion.

I really didn't like the song and almost walked out on the spot. Honestly, I'm not sure attending the ULX is worth putting up with something so crude. Combine that with other factors and I would say it's pretty unlikely I'll attend the ULX this year. Which is sad since that was my first time and I got such a negative impression of the event.

I know, I seem destined to suffer. Sad
OR maybe I just need to give things a second chance. hmmm... Where's the nearest In-N-Out?

Now that's the ticket!! Hmm... Nearest IN-N-OUT...? I dunno, but I know when ULX is!

I would like to apologize for complaining about Tommy's song choice in public before voicing it in-person or at least individually with him. Tommy, I'm sorry I'm never at the same venue at the same time as you. And I miss hearing yoru vinyl. Smile

I think the nearest In-n-Out is currently in Vegas. They haven't put one in St. George yet, have they?

Vegas! Well, I guess the next time I'm down there (maybe it will be within this decade) I'll do my best to try out the place again.
