I thought it'd be a good idea to have a new thread for these.

Loyd Miller's various groups, LA BLues and JivenSwing- There the one's that played at my reception.

Jimmy Reed Trio. - He's an old jazz piano guy, and is pretty good.

Junction City Big Band - They do a good job.

There were more on the other thread. Who else?

Logan:

Off the Top (8+- piece Jazz Combo)

They played at the Spring Formal (several byu kids came up. remember the sore knees from dancing on carpet?) I have a video of them doing a swing jam for us as part of our musical production thingy. Shane (er... somebody) knows how much they charge.

This is an old thread, but there's a group of band members that was started by Caleb from (rest in peace) Moxie Tonic. I don't know the name of the band, but they practice at Cresent School of Music/Rythm Section. They do some swing gigs every once in a while.

I can find more info for you.

A lady at the SLC airport was talking to me about jazz bands in the area, she said there is a group called the Salamanders (I think that was the name of it) that is pretty good. Don't know if that helps you guys at all, but I thought I'd pass on the word.

if you don't know... then for the interest of not offending people on the board you're going to have to remain in utter ignorance.

speaking of airports and jazz bands, i was in the Manchester airport and by the luggage pickup area - lo and behold - there was a jazz combo! My mom said, we'd better dance! I said OKAY (mind you my mom is a great lead, but that's all). We actually had a really good dance to Santa Claus is coming to town and I even pulled off a matrix dip with my MOM!!!

OK, now back to you're regularly scheduled programming!
