We might have, but we noticed that other people were asked not to double post their events. So, we are going to be courteous and follow the rules. |

Is anyone hosting anyone?
I still don't know if I can come down or not, but I really don't think I'd be up to driving back to Logan from Provo at 2am. _________________ Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die, Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly, Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams go, Life is a barren field, Frozen with snow -Langston Hughes - |

I will ask my parents. They do have a giant house in west Provo that mostly sits empty waiting for people to come visit. |

I didn't really like the venue for Saturday night. The floor got sticky and the acoustics were bad. I still had fun, but the dancing was hard on my knees.
Just a note for next time. _________________

The workshops were great Y'all missed out who didn't come. Definitely put Ria on your calender whenever she's in town. (How DO you pronounce her last name, anyway? )
The dancing was fun, & it was great to see lots of people, especially people I haven't seen in a while.
But I have NEVER danced in such sweltering heat in my LIFE! I could sit along the side catching my breath for 10 minutes & still be covered in sweat. And if I actually danced, I'd literally be DRIPPING sweat. It was completely unbearable... _________________ "If you don't dance, you're wasting your feet!"

I know that you were all trying to give good feedback for us for the next time that we put on an event or host a dance,
BUT
You should really think about what you are writing before you post it. I had a VERY hard time finding a place to host for this particular weekend. This is a busy time of year for places with hardwood floors. The location was a last minute miracle and I was exceptionally pleased with myself for finding it.
My part in the event was to give people the opportunity to learn and dance with Ria Debiase (Dee-bee-ah-say). It was for Utah dancers as a service. So, please don't be critical. Please tell us all what you enjoyed and not what you would have done differently. |

I was only there for the Saturday night dance, but I loved the energy. Better luck next time with the floor! _________________ Um... light brown? |

No one was attacking.... and even what people said was very helpful and in no way demeaning your efforts.
Floors are SUPER important. One night of dancing on a sticky floor can ruin a person's dance career. AND even though it was hard to find a venue something should have been done to help out with the stickiness of the floor... I mean baby powder is $2. IDK the studio's policy on it or anything, but it's not that hard to clean up and it would have helped.
Basically I'm just saying be grateful you're getting feedback because it means that people had a good time, usually if a person doesn't have a good time they say "forget this!" And the next time you throw an event more people are likely to say well she listened to my suggestions let's go see how this turns out.

You could try the Noah's in Lindon if you want a good floor that isn't TOO expensive. Or you could try a school gym floor or a large dance studio in the area; if you haven't found a place for this year. _________________ Live your Dreams |
