Super Early Bird opens Thursday, October 15th at 6pm EST!
We have 10 Super Early Bird slots available, at $50 off the door price. While you should visit
http://www.pirateswing.com for the full details, here is a quick summary.

Classes:
Begintermediate, Intermediate, and Advanced tracks. Electives to choose from each day.

Dances:
Live music with Lady Sunshine on Saturday night, and a pirate-themed late night!

Instructors:
Our instructors are great social dancers, great teachers, and all around great people. We are proud to have
Bill Borgida, Michael Gamble & Jaya Dorf, and Joel Domoe & Melanie Myers for Pirate Swing!

Office Hours:
This is your opportunity to spend a few minutes with the instructor(s) of your choice. Whether you want some personal attention on your swingout, or want to ask for clarification on something taught earlier in the weekend, now is the time! Music will be playing throughout office hours, and we encourage everyone to practice with each other when not asking questions.

The beatings will continue until swingouts improve!

Arr!

We hope all of you had a great Turkey Day. If you've been thinking about coming to Pirate Swing, now is a great time to register! You'll save $10 off the Early Registration price if you register by November 30th.

Register at http://www.pirateswing.com/registration.phtml

Pirate Swing Updates:

Bill Borgida is unable to teach at Pirate Swing, due to unforeseen circumstances. Instead, we are bringing in TWO instructors: Joe DeMers and Nelle Hatley from Denver, Colorado. Joe and Nelle are friendly, fun, and have really good connection. We are excited to have them as part of our instructor team!

People have asked us for postcards to put out at their scenes. If YOu have a dance scene that doesn't have postcards, let us help you fix that! Send your snail mail address to jaz@jazdance.com, and we'll be sure to send some.

We have also been asked if housing will be provided. YES! We anticipate having enough housing for all of our out of town guests.

For any additional information, please see http://www.pirateswing.com

Looking forward to seeing all of you,

Your Pirate Swing Crew

Arrr!

Pirate swing is coming up quickly, and we have a few important things to cover.

Classes:

Class descriptions are up and available at http://www.pirateswing.com/class_descriptions.phtml

Advanced Track:

If you plan to take the advanced track, you MUST register by March 9th, 2010! Space is filling up quickly, and
we cannot accept advanced track registrations at the door. Since the Advanced track requires instructor approval, Advanced track classes will not be available a la carte.

Evaluations will be on Friday at 10:00pm during the evening dance. If you are unable to attend this and are registering for the advanced track, please contact us to make alternate arrangements (just hit reply!).

Housing:

You MUST register by February 28th if you need housing. We cannot guarantee housing beyond this date!

If you are able to provide housing, please include this information with your registration. If you aren't attending, but can still house people, please fill out the housing form at http://www.pirateswing.com/housing.phtml

Dances:

The Friday evening dance venue has been upgraded! We have gone from a 1450sq foot dance floor to a 3000sq foot floor! This will
be one of the first dances on the new floor, which officially opens on March 1st.

DJs are listed at http://www.pirateswing.com/music.phtml

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for the business side of things. We now want to take a moment to mention some things that are important to us as organizers.

Planning for Pirate Swing began 7 months ago. We surveyed local and regional dancers to see what they wanted in a workshop, and the results greatly influenced the design of Pirate Swing. The electives, the lindy/blues focus, office hours, and even the long Saturday lunch hour were all direct results of that survey.

We have worked with all of our instructors to make sure that the classes in each track fit together like a puzzle, so at the end of the weekend you walk out with a picture, and not just a jumble of pieces.

This weekend is about social dancing and having a lot of fun. We really look forward to seeing everyone!
